Investment in Occidental Petroleum
Buffett purchased $405 million worth of Occidental Petroleum (OXY) shares. Occidental Petroleum is an energy company engaged in oil and gas exploration and production on a global scale. The company is also investing in chemicals and low-carbon projects. OXY shares have lost 21% of their value since the beginning of 2024.
Acquisition of Sirius XM Holdings
Buffett invested $113 million in shares of Sirius XM Holdings (SIRI). Sirius XM provides satellite and radio services throughout North America. The company’s stock has dropped 57% since the start of 2024.
Additionally, Buffett invested $45 million in VeriSign (VRSN) shares. VeriSign is a global company offering domain name registration services and internet security solutions. VRSN shares have decreased by 1.35% this year.
